In front of me I see a bluish radiance excelling a very thick array of Kalaaya (blue lily) flowers. I am bathed in the nectar of the sight. Then, in the centre of the radiance I see the form of a divine young body enchanting by the budding of youth. He is surrounded by sages like Naarada thrilled with ecstatic bliss, and by a group of beautiful women who are the Upanishads embodied.

Who can recount the glories of the All Pervading Lord Vishnu or count the sand particles of the universe? The three strides of His feet alone measured the three worlds, and the worlds are full of joy with wealth and prosperity because of the touch of His feet. He alone is the support of the worlds. His supreme abode is dear to me and may I attain it, where Thy devotees enjoy bliss and the honey juice of immortality flows free.

It is Brahaman itself, on whose base this universe is manifested, from which this universe became, into which it merges, which itself is the universe, who is transcended from this all, from whose illumination the universe is illumined, whose illumination it is. Again, who is far beyond all description and also from the mind's conception. Whose true nature the gods and sages do not know, what of other lesser beings. To That Krishna, Brahaman itself, salutations.

All entities in this world, knowledge, faith, work, residence, happiness, food etc., being constituted of the three gunas, are of different kinds and different gradations, such as, low, mediocre or high. But entities and activities pertaining to Thee, Thy temples and Thy worship are beyond these three gunas. By resorting to these, I will soon become perfect (free).

O Thou! The Origin of All! In the beginning Thou were in an undivided state of all jivas in the Hiranyagarbha form. Then Thou do manifest Thyself in multiplicity of jivas, and become associated with Maayaa and its various Gunas. With the well developed and dominant Sattva, devotional attitude is reached, by which the other two gunas Rajas and Tamas are destroyed. By and by when Sattva also is abandoned I (the jiva) shall, again, unobstructed, realise myself as Thyself only.

People, whose minds are purified by performing desireless actions, come to understand from the instructions of competent teachers, Thy supreme aspect which is immaculate, bodiless, taintless, all pervading and transcendent. As for the qualities of multiplicity, stoutness, thinness etc., which are in association with the bodies constituted of the three gunas, are super imposed on Thee. It is like the expensiveness, small ness, dimness and brilliance of fire according to the nature of the fuel (wood) on which it manifests.

Thy grace alone will enable me to abondon my love and affection towards my relatives. With my mind merged in Thee, renouncing everything, I will wander about looking upon the whole world as an expression of Maayaa. The injunctions and prohibitions of the scriptures apply to the one who entertains the concepts of good or bad due to multiplicity caused by false comprehension. How can both of these apply to a person whose mind is absorbed in Thee and who has transcended the consciousness of differences.

Understanding that the rituals described in the Vedas are beyond their seeming results-oriented nature, I shall dedicate all such rituals that I perform, to Thee O Lord! And become free from the bondage of action. May I not, even by mistake, by thought deed or speech attempt to do what is forbidden by the Vedas. If any such action becomes unavoidable, that too I will dedicate to Thee alone, O The Glowing Light of Consciousness!

O Lord Krishna! I believe that the worship of Thy feet is the most fear expelling and the only refuge for those mortals who are suffering because of being deeply bound by the false material notions and wrong acceptance of ephemeral values as true. By devotion to Thee all fear is expelled, in every way, the methods of which are taught by Thee (in Bhagvad Geeta etc.). O Lord of Lords! O Soul of all Beings! A person who is steady in Thy devotion will not slip or falter even a wee bit even if he runs on the path of delusion with his eyes closed.

Narayaneeyam - Dasakam: 89 (Slaying of Vrkasura)

वृक असुर कथा, भृगु परीक्षणं च |
SLAYING OF VRKASURA

Lord Brahma, Lord Visnu, Lord Siva and others are able to curse or bless one. Lord Siva and Lord Brahma are very quick to curse or bestow benedictions, my dear King, but the infallible Supreme Lord is not. n this connection, an ancient historical account is related concerning how the Lord of Kailasa Mountain was put into danger by offering a choice of benedictions to the demon Vrka. The demon named Vrka, a son of Sakuni's, once met Narada on the road. The wicked fellow asked him which of the three chief gods could be pleased most quickly. Narada told him: Worship Lord Siva and you will soon achieve success. He quickly becomes pleased by seeing his worshiper's slightest good qualities -- and quickly angered by seeing his slightest fault. He became pleased with ten-headed Ravana, and also with Bana, when they each chanted his glories, like bards in a royal court. Lord Siva then bestowed unprecedented power upon each of them, but in both cases he was consequently beset with great difficulty. Thus advised, the demon proceeded to worship Lord Siva at Kedaranatha by taking pieces of flesh from his own body and offering them as oblations into the sacred fire, which is Lord Siva's mouth.

Narayaneeyam - Dasakam: 88 (Santanagopala)

श्री सन्तान गोपालः
SANTANAGOPALA

As per request of his mother Devaki, Lord Krishna brought back from the Suthala world a ll his dead siblings and later gave them salvation. He also helped Arjuna to keep up his promise of saving from death an expected child of a Brahmin , by taking him to Vaikunta.Hearing the news that you had brought back alive the dead sons of your teacher,Devaki , your mother, who earlier itself wanted to see her six dead children ,And on her request you brought those six sons who were earlier sons of Mareechi,And later due to the curse of Brahma were reborn as sons of Hiranyakasipu,From the land of Suthala by approaching Mahabali, who gave them to you,And after showing them to your mother sent them back to your own place.Once desirous of giving blessing to your great devotees,Sruthadeva who was a very famous learned Brahmin,And king Nahulaswa another of your greatest devotees, You went along with great many sages to the town of Mithila. With the desire to bless both the great well known Brahmana Shrutadeva and the deeply devoted king Bahulaashwa, Thou went to Mithilaa along with many ascetics. You took two different forms and reached, Both their houses simultaneously, And while one worshipped you in a very grand manner, The other offered and worshipped you the food and vegetables, which he managed to get as alms on that day, but you, We are pleased with both of them and gave salvation to both.

Narayaneeyam - Dasakam: 87 (The Kuchela Episode)

कुचेल वृत्तान्त:
THE KUCHELA EPISODE

Krishna and Kuchela studied together under Sandipani Maharshi in his Ashram when they were boys. Many years passed and Krishna was the King of Dwaraka whereas Kuchela was hardly pulling on as a poor brahmin. One day Kuchela's wife tells Kuchela that there is no food in the house. The children were always hungry. It was Kuchela's desire to meet his friend Krishna. Why does he not go and meet him? Kuchela also wants to go. He considers the unexpected opportunity to meet Krishna as a veritable windfall. Before he sets out for Dwaraka to meet Krishna, He asks his wife for a gift to Krishana. She gives him some rice flakes made from borrowed rice and Kuchela He takes care to carry with him, tucked in a corner of his upper cloth, and starts off to meet Krishna. Even as he wends his way towards Dwaraka, his mind is dominated by thoughts about Krishna. On the way he thinks "Will Krishna recognise me? Will he receive me, a poor brahmin? Krishna is so large hearted he will receive any brahmin, even the poorest of the poor." So thinking he proceeds on foot a distance of maybe a hundred miles.

Narayaneeyam - Dasakam: 86 (Mahabharata War)

साल्वादि वध: भारत युध्दं च
MAHABHARATA WAR

Lord Krishna later killed king Sala who had obtained magical powers by penance . In the war between Pandavas and Kauravas, he gave his army to Kauravas and he himself became the charioteer of Arjuna. He helped Pandavas win the war in various ways .During Thy stopover in Indraprastha, Thy city, Dwaraka, was invaded by Salva, whoafter tasting defeat by the Yadava army during the wedding of Rukmini, had obtainedfrom Lord Siva, an aerial vehicle by name Saubha, and was also endowed withmagical powers. Pradyumna, with the entire Yadava army, repelled the attack and, inthe ensuing battle that lasted for 27 days, killed his (Salva's) powerful minister Dyuman. Almost immediately you returned back to Dwaraka with Balarama and joined the battle with Salva.,who had almost completely lost his army,And he also using his mace broke your bow which was named Saranga,And not only that he killed before you Vasudeva created by his magical powers,And it seems it made even you confused and jaded for some time,Though Veda Vyasa says nothing like that happened to you.

Oh Lord, twenty thousand eight hundred kings, Who were caught and kept and tortured by Jarasandha,Send an emissary to you , who is the only support ,For people without any support and they ,Requested you to completely eliminate Jarasandha. Having decided to wage a war against Jarasandha, Hearing from Narada that Dharmaputhra is planning to have a Rajassoya,You becoming one who was not able to decide on the priority between these two,And when Udhava told that since Rajasooya involved in making, All other kings under you, these two aims can be carried out together, Along with all related people you went to the kingdom of Yudhishtra. When Lord Krishna visited Indra prastha to attend the RajaSooya conducted by Yudhishtra all the Pandavas set out in all the directions to conquer the kings and expand the boundaries of their kingdom.

When the time for departure came, Thou didst go to Radha and hold her in a tightembrace, and seeing that she was free from sorrow, Thou didst leave for Dwaraka witha joyous heart. O Lord of Guruvayur, save me from all my ailments.

पौण्ड्रक वधः विविद वधः च
SLAYING OF PAUNDRAKA AND VIVIDA

When Balaram went to the cowherd village of Nanda, the King of Karusha thinking that he is the son of Vasudeva sent a messenger to KrishnaWith glories of Krishna being sung about, Krishna was well established in everybody's mind as the son of Vasudeva.

Paundraka was the king of Kashi. Emboldened by the flattery of childish courtiers Paundraka imagined himself to be Krishna the son of Vasudeva. So the foolish King sent a messenger to Lord Krishna. The messenger arrived in Dwaraka and conveyed the message to Krishna in the Royal assembly. He said,” I am the son of Vasudeva. The only one, who descended to this world, for showing mercy to the living beings. You give up your false designation. O Satvata !the symbols you carry out of ignorance do give them up and come to me for shelter, if not battle with me'.
