विशुद्धौ ते शुद्धस्फतिक विशदं व्योम-जनकं
शिवं सेवे देवीमपि शिवसमान-व्यवसिताम् ।
ययोः कान्त्या यान्त्याः शशिकिरण्-सारूप्यसरणे
विधूतान्त-र्ध्वान्ता विलसति चकोरीव जगती ॥ ३७ ॥

விஸுத்தி சக்கரத்தில் பார்வதி பரமேஸ்வர தியானம்

[ப்ரம்ம ராக்ஷஸ பூதப்பிரேத பிசாச நிவாரணம்] 

விசுத்தெள தே சுத்தஸ்படிக விசதம் வ்யோமஜநகம் 

சிவம் ஸேவே தேவீமபி சிவஸமாநவ்யவஸிதாம் |

யயோ: காந்த்யா யாந்த்யா: சசிகிரண ஸாரூப்யஸரணே:

விதூதாந்தர்வாந்தா விலஸதி சகோரீவ ஜகதீ || 37 ||

அம்மா!, சுத்த ஸ்படிகம் போன்ற நிர்மலமானவரும், ஆகாச தத்துவத்தின் மூலமானவருமான பரமசிவனையும், அவரைப் போன்ற ரூப, தத்துவங்களையுடைய உன்னையும் என்னுடைய விசுத்தி சக்ரத்தில் தியானித்து வணங்குகிறேன். உங்களிருவரிடத்திருந்தும் வரும் வெண்ணிலா போன்ற ஒளியினால் அஜ்ஞான இருட்டானது அகன்று உலகம் சகோரபக்ஷி போன்று மகிழ்வுடன் இருக்கிறது.

சகோர பக்ஷி என்பது ஒரு உவமை, அந்த பறவையானது நிலவின் ஒளியினை அருந்தி, அதில் மகிழ்ந்து உயிர் வாழ்வதாம். அதைப் போன்று, அன்னையை வணங்குபவர்கள், அம்மை-அப்பனிடமிருந்து ப்ரகாசிக்கும் நிலவொளி போன்ற குளிர்ந்த காந்தியால் அஜ்ஞானத்தை விலக்கி ஆனந்தம் அடைவராம்.

தே விசுத்தெள - உன்னுடையதான விசுத்தி சக்ரத்தில்; சுத்தஸ்படிக விசதம் - சுத்தமான ஸ்படிகம் போன்ற நிர்மல ரூபமுடைய; வ்யோமஜநகம் சிவம் - ஆகாசதத்துவத்தை உண்டுபண்ணூம் சிவன்; சிவஸமாந வ்யவஸிதாம் - சிவனுக்கு சமமான; தேவீம் அபி ஸேவே- தேவியையும் வணங்குகிறேன்; யயோ: - எவரிடமிருந்து; சசி கிரண ஸாரூப்யஸரணே - சந்திர ஒளிக்கு சமமான; யாந்த்யா: காந்த்யா - வெளிவரும் காந்தி/ஒளி; ஜகதீ - ஜகம்/உலகம் முழுவதும்; விதூதாந்தர்த்வாந்தா - போக்கடிக்கும் அஜ்ஞானம் என்னும் உள்ளிருட்டு; சகோரீவ = சகோரீ இவ - சகோர பக்ஷி போல்; விலஸதி - விளங்குகிற

ஒப்புநோக்கத்தக்க அபிராமி அந்தாதி பாடல்: 47

நினைவிற்கொள்ளத்தக்க லலிதா சஹஸ்ரநாமாக்கள்:

• விஸுத்தி சக்ரநிலயா

viśuddhau te śuddhasphatika viśadaṃ vyoma-janakaṃ

śivaṃ seve devīmapi śivasamāna-vyavasitām |

yayoḥ kāntyā yāntyāḥ śaśikiraṇ-sārūpyasaraṇe

vidhūtānta-rdhvāntā vilasati cakorīva jagatī || 37 ||

I bow before the Shiva ,

Who is of the pure crystal form,

In thine supremely pure wheel

And who creates the principle of ether,

And to you my mother,

Who has same stream of thought as Him.

I bow before you both,

Whose moon like light,

Forever removes the darkness of ignorance,

Forever from the mind,

And which shines like the Chakora* bird,

Playing in the full moon light.

*The Chakora bird (or Lunar bird) is from Hindu mythology and often takes the form of a partridge. There are two tales about these special birds, the first that they only live within the beams of the moon itself. The other is that the Chakora eat solely moonbeams to survive.

Sankara resorts to the consciousness of a female partridge in order to make it easy for the reader to think of the counterpart of the bright side of consciousness described in the first half of the verse. It is within consciousness, whether of an animal, a bird or a human being, that we can correctly represent to ourselves that cancellable counterpart of consciousness which the numerator is supposed to represent in hypostatic terms. He takes care even to say that it is a female partridge, to show that negativity is more consistent with the feminine than with the masculine consciousness.
